Christine Mattson
From: Adam Edwards
Sent: Friday, November 03, 2017 11:47 AM
To: Christine Mattson; Roger Peitso
Subject: RE: 3425 Watertown Road/#2017-01417
Chris,
I've reviewed the subject grading plan and offer the following comments:
1. Other than two swales the grading plan does not appear to propose any changes to grade. All proposed grading
changes should be shown on the grading plan. Grading required for window wells?
2. One of the two swales depicted appears to flow right through the well location. The swale and well should be
de-conflicted.
3. The plan does not depicted and sediment and erosion control. The Certificate of Survey should be revised to
indicate perimeter erosion control measures(silt fence, bio logs, etc.)down gradient from proposed work.
Measures must be installed by the Contractor and inspected by the City prior to any work.Contractor must
provide a minimum 24 hour notice prior to inspection.
4. The first 50 ft of Driveway leading up from the road should be paved in order to reduce driveway drive way
runoff depositing soil and debris upon the roadway. Orono municipal code Sec 18-136(f).
Adam
From:Christine Mattson
Sent:Thursday, November 02, 2017 3:58 PM
To:Adam Edwards<aedwards@ci.orono.mn.us>; Roger Peitso<rpeitso@ci.orono.mn.us>
Subject: 3425 Watertown Road/#2017-01417
We received a demolition permit for the principal structure and building permit for a new principal structure.
Items I've noted:
• One septic site shown on the survey. No septic plans submitted.
• Any retaining walls or grading needed for lower level windows on the left and rear sides of the house?
• Aerial photos show to additional accessory structures which are not shown on the survey, additional clarification
is needed.
• Needs MCWD permit.
• Needs top of foundation elevation location shown on the perimeter of the foundation.
Please review and provide comments.
Thank you!
Christine Mattson
Planning Assistant
City of Orono
2750 Kelley Parkway I Orono MN 155356(physical address)
PO Box 66 I Crystal Bay I MN 155323-0066 (mailing address)
1
