AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 14 <br />Date: August 12, 2018 <br />Item Description: City Clerk Job Description Revision <br />Presenter: Dustin Rief, Agenda Consent Agenda <br />City Administrator Section: <br />1. Purpose: To align Clerk Job description with actual activities being performed including the <br />management of personnel <br />2. Background: The City Clerk requested a job review based on changes in duties not previously <br />covered in the job description and lower pay than comparison cities. A review of the job description <br />highlighted some insufficiencies related to personnel management, election responsibilities, and <br />educational requirements. The proposed changes are in exhibit A. These changes required a rescoring <br />according to the Hays manual as adopted by the city for the classification of all positions the resulting <br />rescoring moved the positions points from 240 to 339. This resulted in a required wage grade increase <br />from grade 10 to grade 11 due to an increase in the know-how required and accountability expected from <br />the City Clerk. Previously, these two areas seem to have been scored lower than what the position truly <br />requires to meet the needs of the city. <br />3.
