July 30, 2013
Lin Yan
1330 Cherry PI
952-40 - 1 (W)
651-428-0889 (C)
lyan@uswestfinancial.com
RE: File#13-3623
To whom it may concern:
We have submitted the above referenced variance application through the contractor. The deadline was
missed due to the delay on the survey. Our application is forced to be delayed by one more month (to
October, 2013).
Due to the weather in Minnesota, it is almost impossible to finish the entire project in 2013 starting in
October. The variance application does include the new driveway and necessary drainage in the front
yard. This part of the project is not within 75 feet of the lake shore and is not subject to variance
restrictions.
The current drive way is damaged and very narrow. In addition, we are having water issues in basement
due to poor grading of the front yard.A temporary plastic cover is being used to prevent the water
intrusion at this time. We must correct the water problem permanently ASAP to protect our investment.
The proposed new driveway is in conjunction with the water drainage in the front yard, and must be
done before winter.
I would like to apply for an exception so we can start the new drive way and water drainage (not subject
to variance restrictions) in front yard before the variance application is finalized in October.
Thank you for your kind consideration. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Lin Yan, home owner
