Fax 612 473-0846 <br /> January 21, 1992 199 . <br /> Orono City Council <br /> PO Box 66 <br /> Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br /> Ladies and Gentlemen of Orono Council: <br /> We have applied for a Home Occupation License at our address at 2645 <br /> Watertown Road, Long Lake, MN, for Asbestos Control Management, Inc. , <br /> which is owned by Patricia C. Dickey. On January 2, 1992 , we received <br /> a letter from Lyle Oman, Building Inspector, denying our application. <br /> It was our opinion that his findings were inaccurate, so Mr. Oman and <br /> Jeanne Mabusth were invited, by us, to view our operation in person on <br /> January 15, 1992 . This was done to alliviate any mis-conceptions of <br /> our Company and what we actually do as ACM, Inc. <br /> At ACM Inc. , all physical work is done on-site at Schools, Commercial <br /> Buildings and Residential houses. We employ Independent Contractors <br /> on a as needed basis who are licensed and certified by the State of <br /> Minnesota. It is from this pool that we draw from for abatement work <br /> and unless you are Licensed and Certified, you can not perform <br /> abatement work. We manage this work from 2645 Watertown Road and our <br /> space is used by Patricia C. Dickey, President, who owns and manages <br /> the Company and William P. Dickey, who conducts surveys and does <br /> estimating. There is no storage of equipment or large trucks at this <br /> site. Both Mr. Oman and Ms Mabusth inspected our office area. It <br /> should be noted that since 1963, when we built our house, we have had <br /> a business located in our home. They were Camp Tonkawood, Tonkawood <br /> Ski School, Tonkawood Farm, DiCon Construction, Tonkawood <br /> Construction, Dickey Construction and Realty, Wd Construction, Nature <br /> Best, Dickey Natural Systems and now ACM, Inc. <br /> We also own a large out building which is on a separate parcel of land <br /> which adjoins 2645 Watertown Road. This building was built in 1968 to <br /> house Tonkawood Farm Stable, a Commercial Riding Estabishment which <br /> trained, bought and sold horses through our Trainer. This barn was <br /> open to the public and proper zoning was obtained to have a Commercial <br /> Business at this site. We have used this building in the past for <br /> many of the Businesses previously mentioned. We presently use this <br /> building for storage of excess equipment related to the Abatement <br /> Business. No asbestos waste or the ACM truck are stored either in or <br /> outside the building. All asbestos waste is picked up on-site where <br />
