<br /> On Thursday December 19, 2002 we inspected the pond on the Robert Suess property, Lot 8, Block 1,
<br /> ?Meadow Wood Pond. The pond discharges to an existing ditch along the west side of Truffula Trail.The ditch
<br /> then conveys flows northerly across Lot 7, Block 1 to an existing culvert under Truffula Trail. We have the
<br /> following observations regarding engineering matters.
<br /> • The fill placed between the south edge of the pond and the island F,Ws been removed.
<br /> • Pordirg calcutatiuns dated 4-13-00 submitted by Mark Gronberg show a 5.2 acre drainage area reaching
<br /> the pond. The calculations provided indicate that pond discharges for the 1-year through 100-year storm
<br /> events will range between 0.44 cfs to 4.15 cfs (assuming the fill paced in the pond is removed as not:d
<br /> above). The correspopding pond water elevations range between 1023.57 to 1025.28. The pond
<br /> caiculations assume the pond is full of water at all times. The pond typically is not full and the water
<br /> elevations are generally lower than the outlet elevation of 1023.2. If the pond is not full of water when a
<br /> storm event begins the pond outlet flows and water elevations will be less than those s.lown ir. the
<br /> Cal-ulHt:ORs.
<br /> • The outlet flows and pond water elevations are acceptable and do not appear to pose a risk to neighboring
<br /> properties.
<br /> • Fill placed between the pond outlet and the driveway on Lot 7,Block 1 is obstructing flows and should be
<br /> removed immediately.
<br /> • The downstream ditch to the north (Lot 7, Block 1) along the road appears to have a high point located
<br /> midway between the driveway and the culvert under the road.The ditch slows drainage to the north and
<br /> promotes infiltration of storm water, an environmentally friendly situation. A disadvantage to slowing
<br /> s;orr,, Nater and promoting infiltration is the inability to maintain a manicured lawn during wet tines of
<br /> the year. Drainage across this neighboring property could be improved if the ditch was graded to remove
<br /> tale high point. We would expect the removal of the ditch high point to create a ditch similar to the ont;
<br /> immediately across the street or.Lot 3,Block 1.
