r
Christine Mattson
From: Elizabeth Showalter <eshowalter@minnehahacreek.org>
Sent: Monday, February 05, 2018 10:48 AM
To: Christine Mattson
Cc: Chase Vanderbilt; Melanie Curtis
Subject: RE: 2709 Walters Port
Hi Christine,
If the silt fence/biologs are in about the same place and are down gradient of disturbance and around all stockpiles, I
don't have an issue with the grading changing. If they are waiting on the landscaping, they may not need to have silt
fence as close to the lake as in the plans we approved, and it is fine if the pull it back.Once they do the landscaping, they
would then need to put that row of silt fence in closer to the lake.We will keep an eye on the property and let you know
if we run into compliance issues.
When they do finalize their landscaping plans,we will want to see them and if they change the erosion control needs we
will issue a permit amendment. If they go more towards a shoreline stabilization (which I think they were thinking about
at one point)a new permit would be needed for that work.
So, at this point they can go ahead and start work as far as we are concerned.
Thanks for keeping us in the loop.
Elizabeth
From:Christine Mattson (mailto:CMattson@ci.orono.mn.us]
Sent: Monday, February 05, 2018 10:23 AM
To: Elizabeth Showalter<eshowalter@minnehahacreek.org>
Cc:Chase Vanderbilt<cvanderbilt@minnehahacreek.org>; Melanie Curtis<MCurtis@ci.orono.mn.us>
Subject: 2709 Walters Port
Good Morning Elizabeth,
Attached is a copy of City approved plan for construction and grading at 2709 Walters Port. The erosion control plan
approved by the MCWD permit is based on a proposed landscape plan which reflects a previous iteration of the grading
plan. We have had many discrepancies between the landscape plan and survey during our review. We have been
informed by the applicant and landscaper to disregard the landscape plan at this time and after construction they will
come back with another plan.
Also attached is the restoration planning plan for the 0-75'area. Please advise how you will be proceeding with this
permit.
Thank you.
Christine Mattson
Planning Assistant
City of Orono
2750 Kelley Parkway I Orono I MN 155356(physical address)
1
