MINUTES OF THE ORONO PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 20, 1996 <br />( #8 - #2108 Norbert Johnson - Continued) <br />Sandy Rasmussen commented in general from a property owner standpoint on the <br />largeness of the development and the runoff as major concerns. She noted the value of <br />open space. Rasmussen said individual site development has been anticipated but the size <br />of this development has come as a surprise. She sees the interest in residing in the area to <br />preclude the larger development. <br />Schroeder said any lots that are deemed buildable can be sold and developed. He noted <br />Johnson's willingness to consider the input of the neighbors. Schroeder noted the major <br />concerns, such as drainage, and the difficulty with developing this particular property. He <br />commented on the need for Johnson to work with Staff and the neighbors. Johnson said <br />he was willing to meet with the group and make improvements to his plans adding that he <br />had no grander plans than as presented. Lindquist told him to get the plan together first <br />and to meet with the Saga Hill group. Schroeder thanked the neighbors for their input and <br />for coming to the meeting. Smith suggested that those representing the constituency <br />should introduce themselves to Johnson. Mabusth asked the Saga Hill group to inform <br />Johnson of whom to contact. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />• (#9) REPORT BY PLANNING COMMISSION REPRESENTATIVE ATTENDING <br />COUNCIL MEETING OF FEBRUARY 12, 1996 (ELIZABETH HAWN) <br />There was no report at this time. <br />( #10) OTHER ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION <br />Mayor Callahan reminded the Commissioners of the new 60 -day rule that went into effect <br />on January 1, 1996, relating to the time limit for action on applications. <br />ADDITIONAL ITEMS <br />( #11) PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE <br />JANUARY 16,1996 MEETING <br />Schroeder moved, Smith seconded, to approve the Minutes of the January 16, 1996 <br />Meeting of the Planning Commission.
