CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> NO. <br /> 6998 <br /> G <br /> `gKFSHG�t <br /> A RESOLUTION <br /> APPROVING A VARIANCE FROM <br /> MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br /> SECTION 78-420 <br /> FILE NO. LA19-000037 <br /> WHEREAS, on May 21, 2019, Todd Long and Kathrin Long (hereinafter the <br /> "Applicants"), applied for a variance from the City Code for the property addressed 565 Hanlon <br /> Avenue (PID 02-117-23-31-0016) and the adjacent lot identified as PID 02-117-23-31-0017, and <br /> legally described as: <br /> Lots 7, 8, and 9, Block 14, Minnetonka Bluffs, Hennepin County, Minnesota <br /> (hereinafter the"Property"); <br /> WHEREAS, on May 23, 2019, the Applicants made a request to Hennepin County <br /> to combine PID 02-117-23-31-0016; and PID 02-117-23-31-0017 into one tax parcel. Hennepin <br /> County confirmed this request which will be completed in the 2020 tax year; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicants have made application to the City of Orono for a <br /> variance to Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-420 to allow construction of an addition to <br /> the home including a porch 16.9 feet from the rear street/alley lot line where a 50 foot setback is <br /> required; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 17, 2019, after published and mailed notice in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes and the City Code, the Planning Commission held a public hearing, at which <br /> time all persons desiring to be heard concerning this application were given the opportunity to <br /> speak thereon; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 17, 2019, the Planning Commission recommended approval <br /> of the variance; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 8, 2019, the City Council reviewed the application and the <br /> recommendations of the Planning Commission and City staff; and <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Orono, Minnesota <br /> hereby approves the requested variance as described above based on one or more of the <br /> following findings of fact concerning the Property: <br /> 1 <br />
