9-25-98 Fax To' Lyle Oman,Bruce Vang, Steve Weckman City of Orono 473-0510 From: Mike and Lori Arne 125 Truffula Trail Orono, MN 449-8779 No. of pages including cover page' 3 Gentlemen_ We would like to inform you that we have still not heard from our builder, Roger Olson of RKO Builders. It is our understanding that your office has also not heard from him to date as we have not been notified of such_ This letter is to notify you that we have spoke to Mike Knote of Expert Construction (concrete contractor) and faxed him a copy of your letter for reviewal with the October 14th deadline for repairs. We have also faxed a copy to Brad at Northern Heating, however, he has not returned our phone calls. We will also be faxing or sending a certified letter to bon's Plumbing (septic installers) and Suburban Exteriors who did the caulking. We are sending with this fax a copy of the Sworn Construction Statement for our home with RKO's subcontractor's description and phone numbers. As you previously notified Roger to respond in writing by 9-16- 98, and he has not, it obviously is a concern of ours that this builder will ever return to this project and certainly does not intend on managing it. This has been pointed out to your office prior to closing and after closing. As any taxpayer does,we look toward the City to protect us from our home having any code violations before a certificate of occupancy is issued, Consequently, we are requesting your office to pursuade these individual contractors to immediately return.to the project in order to remedy these code violations. We assume that your office notified Roger Olson of RK.O Construction by certified mail of the various code violations in our home so that it can be verified that he received notification. If this is not the case, then it is even more critical that you immediately contact the individual contractors by phone, followed by a certified notification to them. If you are unsuccessful in getting Don's Plumbing to return to the project and rectify the situation, we believe your department should immediately notify the FCA in order to protect others. Please immediately notify us of any correspondence, either written or verbal, that you will have with any of the subcontractors, If you have any questions,please give us a call.
