Co., MN l
A Compliance Inspection was completed for the existing on--site sewage treatment
system located on this property. The system consists of 2-1000 gallon septic tanks, 1-
1000 gallon pumping chamber & a pressurized mound system built in 1997. Soil boring
#1 found mottled (redox features) at 1.7' below the ground surface. Soil boring #3
found the original soil at elev.102,5 &fihe bottom of the rock bed at elev.104.2 leaving
1.7' of sand below the rock bed & a 3.4' separation from the bottom of the rock bed &
redox features. Soil boring #2 found mottled soil at 2.2' below the ground surface. Soil
boring #4 found the original soil at elev,102,5 & the bottom of the rock bed at
elev.104.2 leaving 1.7' of sand below the rock bed & a 3.9' separ bottom
of the rock bed & redox features, This system is classified sin compliance w h
Minnesota Chapter 7080 rules.
The tanks were pumped by Elmer J. Peterson Co. who found the 1st & 2nd tanks
leaking & are classified as non-compliant, The tanks will need to be replaced & a Tank
Entegrity Report completed for the compliance to be complete.
On record at the City on June 2, 1998, S-P Testing found the system to be hydraulically
overloaded due to the tanks leaking & poor drainage around the mound, Also sand
was only found 12' from the rock bed, 19' was required. The sand during the inspection
on 9-22-10 was found 10' from the rock bed & a diversion was excavated aroung the
south end off the mound. It appears that the drainage & added sand was completed at
that time but the tanks are still leaking.
Nothing other than gray water (laundry, showers, etc.) human waste & toilet tissue
should be disposed of into the septic tanks. Garbage disposals are not recommended,
due to adding more solids & fine solids passing through to the system. Recommend to
divert iron filters out of the system, recommend to divert the
1
