22752 County Road 7
Hutchinson,MN 55350 Svoboda
ical
952-471-1100 Office 612-384-7770 Mobile R •
urces
franks@gpsinnovations.com
Memo
To: Elizabeth Brown
Fran: Frank Svoboda
CC: Heather O Conner
Date: 5/5/2015
Re: SER Project 2014-039; 2001080 Tonkawa Road
On April 28, 2015 the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District convened a Technical Evaluation Panel
meeting to review wetland boundaries which were flagged on October 22, 2014. The wetland
delineation report was completed and submitted to MCWD on November 25, 2014.Due to the lateness
of the year and an early snowfall on November 10, 2014, the wetland boundary could not be reviewed
last fall.
On Friday May 1, 2015 Elizabeth Brown sent an e-mail outlining the requirements discussed and
agreed upon at the TEP review.
An area near the Lakeshore in the vicinity of a wastewater sewer line paralleling the lakeshore and at
the end of a surface drainageway was examined. This area was sampled in November and while the
soils were hydric, an error on the data sheet pertaining to the vegetation resulted in the area being
called non-wetland. The cedar trees present were identified as red cedar, an upland species, whereas
the trees present were white cedar, Thuja occidentalis, FACW. Changing the tree species along with
landscape position and soils resulted in the area being classified as a PFOA,Type 1 L Floodplain forest
wetland.
Included with this memo are the required revisions to Figures 5 and 6 in the original delineation report
dated November 25,2014.
A completed surrey of the wetland boundaries will be provided to MCWD when available.
1
