Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to approve the 2018 Official Calendar. <br />2. Background. <br />Council Meetings <br />Council meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 7:00 <br />p.m. Generally only one Council meeting is scheduled in December. The annual budget <br />hearing will be held at the beginning of the December l Oth Council meeting beginning at <br />6:30 p.m. (Note: This is an early start time) <br />Council Work Sessions <br />Council work sessions are designated prior to the second meeting of the month beginning <br />at 5:00 p.m. No work session is scheduled for December. <br />Planning Commission Meetings <br />Planning Commission meetings are scheduled for the third Monday of the month at 6:30 <br />p.m. January and February are the exceptions because of Monday holidays. In those <br />months, the meetings will be held the following Tuesday. No Planning Commission <br />meeting is scheduled in December. <br />Planning Commission Work Sessions <br />Planning Commission work sessions will be scheduled on an as needed basis and are not <br />reflected on the 2018 calendar. <br />Park Commission Meetings <br />Park Commission meetings are scheduled for the first Monday of every other month at <br />6:30 p.m. Meeting months are January, March, May, July, September, and November. <br />(Note: The September meeting will be held on Tuesday because of a Monday Holiday.) <br />Park Commission work sessions scheduled for the first Monday of every other month at 1 <br />p.m. The months are February, April, June, August, and October. <br />Holiday Schedule <br />According to the City's personnel policy, the City schedules twelve holidays throughout <br />the year, which include regular holidays and one designated floating holiday to be set by <br />the City Administrator. The regular holidays observed are New Year's Day, Martin <br />Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, <br />Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and <br />Christmas Day. <br />Prepared By: AMC Reviewed By: -1ja Approved By: JIV <br />
