AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 10 <br />Date: September 25, 2017 <br />Item Description: Kelley Avenue Culvert Replacement <br />Presenter: DJ Goman Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Stormwater Supervisor Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to proceed with the replacement of two <br />Kelley Avenue culverts. <br />2. Background. Residents of Kelly Avenue reported excessive flooding in the street during larger <br />rainfall events and are further concerned about the impact of future development on the storm system in <br />the area. In 2014 Bolton & Menk, Inc was contracted to conduct a drainage analysis and provide <br />recommendations. The Study recommended a series of three improvements. In 2016 improvement #1 <br />the upsizing of the outlet into Carman Bay was completed. The remaining culvert replacements are <br />recommended for completion this year. <br />3. Project Scope. Replacement of a 12" culvert with two 15" culverts under Kelly Ave and replacement <br />of 8" drain tile along Kelly Ave. <br />4. Cost. The City received quotes for the culvert work, listed below. <br />Contractor <br />Quote <br />Widmer Construction <br />$ 62,908.00 <br />Park Construction <br />$ 72,360.25 <br />Minger Construction <br />$ 101,014.25 <br />5. Funding. This project will be funded through the Storm Water Enterprise Fund. The Capital <br />Improvement Plan (CIP) budgeted $75,000 for Kelley Avenue Improvements. The EOY 17 Fund balance <br />is projected to be $1,453,394. <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
