AGENDA ITEM <br />3. Cost. By establishing the district the City of Orono does not incur any additional costs other than <br />the publication costs of the process. The city can offer to contribute to the cost of improving the bay if it <br />chooses to do so. The annual cost of the improvement actions in the bay is estimated to be $20,000 to <br />$30,000. . <br />4. Funding. The costs incurred by the District will be paid by a tax levied on property owners in the <br />district, and by grants that may be received. The Cities of Excelsior and Greenwood have contributed <br />toward the annual costs of the improvements to St Albans Bay <br />5. Staff Recommendation. I recommend that City Council hold the public hearing and determine if the <br />Carman Bay Lake Improvement District should be established. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />1. Motion to accept the Certified Petition for the establishment of the Carman Bay Lake <br />Improvement District. <br />2. Motion to approve the resolution establishing the Carman Bay Lake Improvement District. <br />3.
