REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />DATE: January 23, 2017 <br />ITEM NO: 10 <br />Department Approval: Administrator Reviewed: Agenda Section: <br />Name Diane Tiegs Y"-4 City Administrator's <br />Title City Clerk Report <br />Item Description: Amend 2017 Official Calendar <br />Council Meeting <br />Council meetings are scheduled for the second and fourth Monday of each month. Due to <br />schedule conflicts, the meeting scheduled for March 27, 2017 will not have a quorum present. <br />There are three options for consideration which require a legal notice to amend the official <br />calendar: <br />1. Move the regular scheduled meeting to Tuesday, March 21, 2017 or Wednesday, March <br />22, 2017. This option would have Council meet one week after the regular meeting of <br />March 13, 2017. <br />2. Move the meeting to Monday April 3, 2017, which would have Council meet one week <br />prior to the regular meeting of April 10, 2017. <br />3. Cancel the meeting with a two month notice due to a lack of a quorum during school <br />spring break. <br />Special Council Work Session <br />Council work sessions are scheduled the fourth Monday of each month prior to a regular <br />scheduled Council meeting. Mayor Walsh would like to add a special work session prior to the <br />February 13, 2017 meeting for the purpose of interviewing applicants for the vacant City Council <br />seat. If council members are not available, the interviews could take place at the regular <br />meeting. <br />All legal notices will be published in the official newspaper and posted at the Post Offices and <br />City Hall. <br />Council Action Requested: <br />Consider a motion amending the official calendar to approve one option for moving the March <br />27, 2017 meeting and a special work session for February 13, 2017. <br />
