Abilities: <br />• Oral Comprehension — Able to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through <br />spoken words and sentences. <br />• Oral Expression — Able to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will <br />understand. <br />• Problem Sensitivity — Able to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not <br />involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem. <br />• Written Comprehension — Able to read and understand information and ideas presented in <br />writing. <br />• Deductive Reasoning — Able to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that <br />make sense. <br />• Inductive Reasoning — Able to combine pieces of information to form general rules or <br />conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events). <br />Minimum Requirements <br />0 High School Diploma or equivalent. <br />e Five (5) years of experience in parks or golf course maintenance. <br />0 Two (2) years of experience planning and coordinating projects. <br />0 Two (2) years of experience as crew leader, field supervisor, or equivalent. <br />0 Valid MN Class "B" Driver's License or ability to obtain within one-year of employment. <br />0 2 year turf certificate <br />0 Certified tree inspector <br />0 Current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator. <br />0 Must live within a 30 minute travel time of the Orono Public Works facility within one (1) year of <br />employment. <br />0 No physical limitation required. <br />0 Satisfactory results from drug test, physical examination, motor vehicle records check, and <br />criminal background investigation. <br />Desirable Oualifications <br />• Ten (10) years of parks or golf course experience. <br />• Five (5) to seven (7) supervisory experience. <br />• Certified Arborist <br />0 Bachelor's degree with major work in turf management, horticulture, or park management. <br />Physical Demands and Workini!
