Purpose. This application is regarding variances for a new monument sign. <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received and considered as complete on <br />April 17, 2017. Therefore the 60 -Day review period expires on June 17, 2017. <br />3. Background. The owners of North Shore Marina Smiths Bay wish to remove the outdated pylon <br />sign with a new low -profile stone monument sign. Variances are requested for setback, <br />hardcover, and height from grade. <br />4. Planning Commission Comment. On May 15th the Planning Commission held a public hearing <br />and reviewed the application. Following the public hearing the Commission voted 5 to 0 on a <br />motion to approve the variances. <br />5. Public Comment. A neighbor spoke at the public hearing, that discussion is detailed in the <br />attached Planning Commission draft minutes. No additional comments were received regarding <br />this application. <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
