AGENDAITEM <br />Item No.: 12 <br />Item Description: Fox Street Rehabilitation Award <br />Date: April 24, 2017 <br />Presenter: Adam T. Edwards Agenda Public Works Director/ <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Section: City Engineer's Report <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is to gain Council approval for award of the Fox Street <br />Rehabilitation Project. <br />2. Background. On August 81, 2016 BMI presented a feasibility study for the reconstruction of Fox <br />Street. The study consists of an analysis of the existing conditions, topographic surveying of the project <br />area and development of courses of action to repair, replace and improve the street. On September 12', <br />2016 the Council approved the engineering and design for sections between Old Crystal Bay Rd. and <br />Brown Road. On March 13 th , 2017 the Council approved the design and authorized the solicitation of <br />Bids. The solicitation was published requesting two parts; one based on a July 14' completion date and <br />one based on a September Pt completion date. <br />3. Project Scope. The project will consist of the reclamation of the bituminous pavement, select <br />subgrade corrections, and the replacement / improvement of the associated storrawater system of Fox <br />Street between Old Crystal Bay Rd. and Brown Road <br />4. Cost. The low bid is for $ 750,485.03 from Park Construction based on a September I't, <br />substantially complete date. The bid summary is shown in Exhibit A. In addition to the construction cost, <br />B I provided an estimate for construction oversight. Staff Recommendation.
