MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday March 13,2017 <br />7:00 o'clock p.m. <br />7 & 8. #17-3898 DALE RICHARDSON/CBS-MN PROPERTIES, 2060 WAYZATA BLVD. <br />WEST, AMEND PUD NO. 2C, AGREEMENT TO ALLOW DAYCARE USE and #17-3899, <br />JAMES SMALE REPRESENTING LITTLE ACORNS CHILD CARE, INC., 2060 WAYZATA <br />BOULEVARD WEST, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR DAYCARE USE — Continued- <br />Printup asked what type of use they are looking at for the second building. <br />Richardson stated they are looking at professional use, such as a law firm or architectural firm. <br />Seals asked what they are contemplating for the rest of the site. <br />Richardson stated they would like to construct one large professional medical building around 24,000 <br />square feet with underground parking. <br />No public comments were received on this application. <br />Walsh recommended the City Attorney add to his list the elimination of the City's code language <br />regarding the outdoor play area and instead incorporate language that follows the state standards. <br />Seals moved, Crosby seconded, to adopt the First Amendment to Planned Unit Development No. 2C <br />Agreement and Development Contract, and to direct Staff to draft an approval resolution for <br />Application No. 17-3899, James Smale representing Little Acorns Childcare, Inc., 2060 Wayzata <br />Boulevard West, granting of a conditional use permit for daycare use. <br />Gaffron noted the resolution regarding the conditional use permit would be back before the City Council <br />at the next meeting. <br />VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />*9. #17-3900 SCOTT KIRCHNER, 1090 HERITAGE LANE, VARIANCE — RESOLUTION <br />NO. 6731. <br />Printup moved, Seals seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6731, a Resolution Approving a <br />Variance from Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-305, for the property located at 1090 Heritage <br />Lane, File No. 17-3900. VOTE: Ayes 5, Nays 0. <br />10. #17-3904 LAUREL ULLAND ARCHITECTURE/MARTHA MYERS HEAD, 2090 <br />SHORELINE DRIVE, CUP VARIANCE — RESOLUTION NO. 6732 <br />Curtis stated the applicant is requesting two conditional use permits and a variance in order to reconstruct <br />the guest cabin on the property. The existing guest cabin is located within the I 00 -year floodplain and <br />was damaged by the flooding that happened in 2014. The cabin is also located lake ward of the average <br />lakeshore setback. <br />The new guest cabin will require an average lakeshore setback variance due to the location of the home <br />across the bay at 2065 North Shore Drive.
