MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO PLANNING COMNIISSION <br />Tuesday, February 21, 2017; <br />6:30 o'clock p.m. <br />Gaf -ron noted the use of that area for a daycare play area would eliminate a few parking spaces. <br />Lemke asked if the truck station would remain. <br />Gaffron stated Staff has not received any indication that it would be eliminated. <br />Dale Richardson, CBS -MN Properties, stated in his view the daycare is a good fit for the area and is not <br />out of character with the rest of the area. Richardson stated they do have plans for the other parts of the <br />property but that it is still a work in progress at this point. Richardson indicated there would likely be two <br />buildings on the site or possibly one large building in addition to the existing structure. <br />Gaffron pointed out the location of the existing structure. <br />Richardson stated the one building is being contemplated as a medical building and that building would <br />have parking below, which would compensate for any lost parking. <br />Chair Thiesse opened the public hearing at 6:50 p.m. <br />There were no public comments regarding this application. <br />Chair Thiesse closed the public hearing at 6:50 p.m. <br />Landgraver stated he tends to agree with Staff to amend the agreement as opposing to modifying the B-6 <br />district. Landgraver stated some of the other developments going on in the City may create additional <br />demand for daycare. <br />Thiesse noted one option is not to change anything. <br />Leskinen indicated she is in agreement with Commissioner Landgraver. <br />Lemke moved, Schoenzeit seconded, to recommend approval of Application No. 17-3848, Dale <br />Richardson, 2060 Wayzata Boulevard West, granting of a PUD text amendment.
