The kitchen is used daily for food service by Shoreline Childcare, weekly on Wednesday <br />evenings by our congregation for a pre-worship/confirmation meal for our youth and families, <br />and as needed on Sunday mornings and at other times for Sunday church dinners, funeral meals, <br />and special church events. This remodel and expansion will allow us to have an up-to-date <br />kitchen which provides a safe, standard -meeting area for food preparation and serving. <br />The floor plan modifications also address life -safety issues and improve building code <br />compliance. The Fellowship Hall will have better access to the existing south stair and a new <br />exterior door will provide a safety exit and access to the back yard. The raised floor (and step) <br />inside the existing storage closet area will be removed. <br />The hours of operation for construction will be from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. <br />Good Shepherd Lutheran Church has been an active part of the Navarre and Orono communities <br />since 1954, and we are currently a strong, healthy congregation, with 300 people in worship each <br />week and over 60 students in our Confirmation program. Shoreline Childcare has been a safe <br />and affordable daycare space for children in our community since 1969, and they recently <br />received a national childcare accreditation.
