CITY OF ORONO <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />NO. <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING <br />RESIDENTIAL RECYCLING GRANT AGREEMENT <br />WITH HENNEPIN COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota Statute 115A.552, counties shall ensure that residents have <br />an opportunity to recycle; and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County Ordinance 13 requires each City implement and maintain a <br />recycling program; and <br />WHEREAS, the County Board approved the Hennepin County Residential Recycling Funding <br />Policy for the period of 2017 to 2020 and authorized grant funding for municipal recycling <br />programs consistent with said policy; and <br />WHEREAS, in order to receive grant funds, the City must sign the agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, the city of Orono wishes to receive these grand funds each year. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Orono accepts <br />the agreement as proposed. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council authorizes submittal of the grant <br />application on annual basis through 2020 as required in the agreement, and further authorizes the <br />City Administrator to execute such agreement with Hennepin County. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota, at a regular meeting held January <br />12, 2017. <br />Attest: <br />Diane Tiegs, City Clerk <br />Dennis Walsh, Mayor <br />
