AGENDA ITEM <br />Item No.: 10 Date: July 9, 2018 <br />Item Description: East Long Lake Road Disposition <br />Presenter: Adam T. Edwards, P.E. Agenda Consent Agenda <br />Public Works Director/City Engineer Section: <br />1. Purpose. The purpose of this action item is for Council to accept the proposal for Bolton and Menk <br />(BMI) for masterplan services for the East Long Lake road trail project. <br />2. Background. At the May 29th meeting, the City Council directed staff and the Parks Commission to <br />develop a plan for the conversion of northern section East Long Lake Road to a trail. Since the Council <br />direction staff solicited a proposal from BMI for master planning services. Also at the July 2', Parks <br />Commission meeting, the Commission established subcommittee to work with staff and our consultant <br />developing a plan for the site. <br />3. Scope of work. Prepare a masterplan for the northern section of East Long Lake Road including a <br />road to trail conversion and shoreline restoration / improvements. <br />4. Cost and Funding. BMI provided a proposal (Exhibit B) for master planning services for a fee not <br />to exceed $ 17,500. The project will be funded by the Parks Fund which has an estimated EOY 2018 <br />balance of $ 755,246. <br />5. Staff Recommendation. Staff recommends acceptance of BMI Proposal. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED: <br />Accept the proposal from Bolton and Menk to provide master plan services for a fee not to exceed <br />$17,500. <br />Exhibits <br />Exhibit A.
