Purpose. This application is regarding average lakeshore setback variances to permit expansion <br />of the existing cabin. <br />2. MN§15.99 Application Deadline. The application was received on December 29, 2017 and <br />considered to be complete on January 17"'. Therefore, the 60 -Day review period expires on March <br />181'. <br />3. Background/ Summary. The owners are requesting an average lakeshore setback variance to <br />permit enlargement of two areas of their existing cabin; the screen porch expansion is 89 square <br />feet and the mudroom expansion is 85 square feet. <br />4. Planning Commission Vote and Comment. On February 20' the Planning Commission held a <br />public hearing. Following the public hearing the Planning Commission voted 5 to 0 on a motion <br />to approve the requested variances. The Commission noted that the entire cabin is lakeward of <br />the average lakeshore setback line and the improvements will not impact adjacent views. <br />5. Public Comment. Comments from the neighbors were received and are attached as Exhibit D. <br />6. Staff Recommendation.
