ARTICLE 7 <br />GRADES AND CLASSIFICATIONS <br />7.01 Grades: For the purpose of salary determination, the classifications of office, professional and clerical <br />Employees will be as follows: <br />Grade 2 <br />Community Service Officer <br />Grade 5 <br />Admin Support <br />Grade 6 <br />Payroll Utility Billing Clerk <br />Grade 7 <br />Planning Assistant, Management Assistant <br />Grade 10 <br />Accountant, IT Technician <br />Grade 11 <br />City Planner <br />Grade 12 <br />City Planner -Senior <br />7.011 Exempt Positions: For the purposes of overtime determinations the following positions are <br />classified as Exempt, and thereby not eligible for overtime: <br />Grade 10 Accountant, IT Technician <br />Grade 11 City Planner <br />Grade 12 City Planner -Senior <br />7.02 Anniversary Date: Employees hired after the execution of this agreement shall progress on the scale <br />(steps) on the anniversary date of their hire. Current Employees will remain on current schedule of adjusted <br />anniversary dates. <br />7.03 COLA: The Cost of Living Adjustment for this contract shall be: 2.5% increase for 2018; 2.5% increase <br />for 2019; and 2.5% increase for 2020. <br />7.04 Pay Grade Scale: See Exhibit A. <br />ARTICLE 8 <br />COMPENSATION <br />8.01 Initial Placement: New Employees will be placed on the salary schedule as agreed between the <br />Employee and the Employer. However, initial placement shall not exceed the 3rd step, and placement above <br />the initial step shall be done only upon notification to the Union by the City Administrator and placement shall <br />be subject to the provisions of Article 16 of this Agreement. <br />8.011 Pay Changes: An Employee moving to a position of a lower grade shall be placed in the new <br />grade on the same step as occupied in the previous grade. An Employee promoted to a higher grade <br />shall in no situation lose pay and shall receive a minimum of a 10% increase in pay. <br />8.02 Paydays: Paydays shall be on a biweekly schedule. When a payday falls on a holiday, checks will be <br />issued on the previous workday. Exception: Christmas holiday falls on Tuesday or Wednesday. If exception is <br />met a minimum of a 7 day notice will be provided to Employees. <br />8.03 Comparable Worth: The wages provided herein may be increased during the term of this contract for <br />purposes of complying with the conditions of M.S. 471.991 through 471.998 as amended. <br />8.04 Longevity Pay: Beginning on the anniversary of the Employee's 8th year of service, a longevity <br />incentive will be applied to the hourly rate/salary of the Employee. The Employee shall receive $0.05 per hour <br />per year of service 8 years and above as a longevity incentive. This will be effective July 1, 2018 and will be <br />adjusted at the employment anniversary of each Employee. This will be added to the Employee's hourly wage <br />and is based on 2080 working hours per year. <br />Sample calculations: <br />8 (years of service) x $0.05 = $0.40; Longevity pay = $0.40 x 2080 = $832 <br />17 (years of service) x $0.05 = $0.85; Longevity pay = $0.85 x 2080 = $1,768 <br />4 <br />196142v2 <br />
