Memo
Serving the Communities of Orono,
Long Lake and Medina
With pride and professionalism
TO: Scott Weske City Administrator of Long Lake, Scott Johnson City Administrator of Medina and
Dustin Rief City Administrator of Orono
Frorm Fire Chief James Van Eyll
CC:
Date: 06/14/2018
Res Capital purchase of a new radios and accessories
The Long Lake Fire Department is replacing all of our portable radios that will be removed from the 800
MHz System at the end of 2018. We would like to order them before June 22, 2018 due to an expiring
promotion with Motorola and Ancom. The savings as listed in the quotes is $9,483.75. The quotes from
Ancom and Motorola are attached to this Memo as is a spreadsheet showing the breakdown of the
pricing and items. The new portable radio pricing includes a lapel mic and vehicle chargers. Along with
new portable radios, we are purchasing 2 new station bank chargers, a new mobile radio for new engine,
2 headsets for the remaining engines, encryption for 7 existing radios and Officer Radio strap/carriers
due to the fact that none of our existing items are compatible with the new portable radios. We are not
ordering a new headset for the new engine due to the Long Lake Fire Relief Association donating an
intercom system with headsets for the new engine which costs roughly $8,000 with installation.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me to discuss.
Thanks
CUI%? U//6J/ ' ff
James Van Eyll
Chief, Long Lake Fire Department
