Figure 3. Existing Coverage (Without the Simulated Effect of the Proposed Site) <br />The above map shows the existing best server coverage distribution of the area surrounding the proposed site (Crystal <br />Bay). The expected effect of the proposed site is not simulated in this case. Each color on the map represents the area <br />currently being served by individual sectors of existing sites. For example, if we consider the existing site (Long Lake) <br />located North of Crystal Bay, in dark blue we can identify the area covered by the southwest facing sector of the site. In <br />green we can identify the area covered by the site's northwest facing sector. Similarly, pink identifies the area served by <br />the site's east facing sector. <br />In the above map we can see that the southwest -facing sector (displayed in dark blue) of the <br />existing Verizon site (Long Lake) is currently serving the Old Crystal Bay Rd between Hwy US - <br />12 and Crystal Bay Lake. Analysis has shown that this sector will need an additional site to <br />balance the traffic, thus the need for the proposed new site. <br />
