The purpose of this action item is to gain approval for the disposal of an unclaimed <br />(abandoned) vehicle. <br />2.Background. The Police Department has an abandoned vehicle and homemade trailer that can be <br />disposed. The vehicle and trailer was impounded and driver arrested by the Orono Police Department. <br />The police department has sent requests for the registered owner to retrieve the vehicle and homemade <br />trailer. More than 60 days has passed with no response. The vehicle and trailer are in very poor condition. <br />The police department would recommend vehicle be sent to an auto salvage business for scrap. <br />3.Project Scope. Disposal of a forfeited vehicle. <br />1991 Chevrolet Pickup VIN#2GCGC29K9M1111811 over 300,000 miles <br />Homemade Trailer No VIN# - very poorly made and in poor condition <br />4.Staff Recommendation. I recommend that the disposal of the abandoned vehicle and homemade <br />trailer. <br />COUNCIL ACTION REQUESTED <br />Motion to dispose of an abandoned vehicle and homemade trailer.
