Transportation Plan <br /> <br /> <br />City of Orono Community Management Plan 2020-2040 Part 4A, Page 9 <br /> <br /> <br />County Road 15 is the primary minor arterial for commuter traffic through southern Orono. <br />Because County Road 15 abuts the shoreline along much of its route, the City is committed <br />to retaining its character as that of a scenic parkway serving local residences. Such a <br />character is incompatible with its minor arterial function. It would therefore be preferable to <br />reduce the volume of traffic on County Road 15 by providing an additional east-west <br />corridor in southern Orono.
