From:Kasey Beeler <br />To:Adam Edwards <br />Subject:Speed Limit Reduction: Willow Drive from Glendale to Watertown <br />Date:Monday, January 14, 2019 8:53:18 PM <br />Hi Adam- <br />My name is Kasey Beeler and I am a resident on Glendale Cove Lane, which intersects <br />Willow Drive where the proposed speed reduction request has been made. I could not agree <br />more with this request and hope the city does reduce the speed to 30 mph. Like many <br />others in the area we are a family with young children and I do not feel the speed limit creates <br />a safe environment. In fact, I worked very hard to change the bus route for my children so that <br />both times my children ride the bus - am and pm- the bus drops them off to not requiring <br />crossing Willow. After I made this change our entire cul de sac and the entire Oliver Hill cul <br />de sac also requested the similar bus route change due to concerns over crossing and children's <br />safety. With the hills on this stretch of Willow it is very difficult to see and often I find myself <br />having to pick up my pace if crossing Willow on Glendale Cove in order to get to Hackberry <br />Park. I think the reduction in speed would help increase safety for everyone using the area. <br />Thank you for considering a speed reduction and advocating for families in Orono.
