Aug 10, 2011 <br />ITEM 7 - STATEMENT OF ACCESSIBILITY <br /> <br />All facilities improved with this grant project and all critical components of the park listed <br />below, must be made compliant with the ADA requirements even if they are not part of this <br />application proposal. <br /> <br />Critical components include: <br />• Accessible parking spaces serving each park area. <br />• Accessible restrooms, if restrooms are provided. <br />• Accessible drinking water, if drinking water is provided. <br />• Access routes to all critical components and recreation facilities provided in the park. <br />For this program, an access route must be a minimum of 5 feet wide, slip resistant, firm <br />and stable. <br /> <br />If a grant is awarded, part of the grant will be withheld pending verification of ADA compliance <br />by an on-site final inspection. <br /> <br />The following guidelines will help you design your facilities. Copies can be ordered from the <br />U.S. Access Board at (800) 872-2253, or downloaded from their website at United States Access <br />Board. <br /> <br />1. ADA Accessibility Standards for Buildings and Facilities <br />(For buildings and certain recreation facilities including playgrounds, recreational boating <br />facilities, and fishing piers) <br /> <br />2. Final Accessibility Guidelines for Outdoor Developed Areas September 26, 2013 <br />(For outdoor developed areas such as campgrounds, picnic areas, trails, and beaches. These <br />guidelines, developed for federal facilities subject to the Architectural Barriers Act, are to be <br />used for facilities improved by this Outdoor Recreation Grant Program.) <br /> <br />Applicant should state that they have reviewed and understand the ADA standards, final <br />accessibility guidelines and our program requirements, stated above, and agrees to comply <br />with these requirements. <br />We have reviewed and understand the accessibility guidelines. The purpose of this project is <br />to ensure the park has trails and facilities that meet or exceed these guidelines providing <br />access to as broad a user group as possible. <br />ITEM 8 - PROJECTED OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE COSTS <br /> <br />Estimate the projected operations and maintenance costs for each facility to be developed or <br />improved by this grant. Include routine costs (such as labor, materials, utility costs and <br />equipment costs), and planned major repairs or preventive maintenance (such as seal coating <br />or replacement of plumbing, lighting, aglime, turf, etc.). <br /> <br />The operations and maintenance of the project improvements will be added to the City’s <br />Parks Operating Budget.
