The purpose of this action item is to gain approval to accept a donation/grant <br />reimbursement from Hennepin County Emergency Management. <br /> <br />2. Background. The Police Department has received two donations. A $10,885.00 grant from <br />Hennepin County Emergency Management. The grant covered the reimbursement of an Alert 24 - <br />Programmable message board from All Traffic Solutions. The message board will be used by the Lake <br />Area Emergency management group. The portable message board will be used during special events, as a <br />traffic control device and many other uses when we needed to get information out to the motoring public. <br /> <br /> The second donation of $2,847.00 was received through a grant from Hennepin County and <br />Homeland Security and Emergency Management. The items that we received reimbursement for were <br />approved in a 2017 UASI project application through the Law Enforcement and Terrorism Prevention. <br />This grant funds items that support costs for law enforcement agencies. The application was submitted <br />and approved. The items that we are being reimbursed are for 3- Liberator communications headsets for <br />our SWAT members. <br /> <br /> <br />3. Staff Recommendation.
