a <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING — NOVEMBER 25, 1991 <br />ROLL <br />The Council met on the above date with the following members <br />present: Mayor Barbara Peterson, Councilmembers Gabriel Jabbour, <br />Edward Callahan and Mary Butler.. , J. Diann Goetten was absent. <br />The following represented the City staff: City Administrator Ron <br />Moorse, Public Works Director John Gerhardson, Building & Zoning <br />Administrator Jeanne Mabusth, Assistant Planning & Zoning <br />Administrator Michael Gaffron, City Attorney Tom Barrett, City <br />Engineer Glenn Cook, and City Recorder Teri Naab. Mayor Peterson <br />called the meeting to order at 7:03 P.M. <br />(##1) CONSENT AGENDA <br />Callahan added Items 3, 4, 5 and 8 and removed Item 11. <br />Mayor Peterson also wanted Item 11 to be removed. <br />It was moved by Butler, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to approve <br />the Consent Agenda, with the inclusion of Items 3, 4, 5 and 8 and <br />with the exclusion of Item 11. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />Gaffron noted the applicant was present for Item 4, and thought <br />perhaps they should discuss this issue. <br />Butler amended her motion to exclude Item 4. <br />Motions for all items adopted by consent agenda will be included <br />in the minutes in their respective numerical order. <br />( *##2) APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />It was moved by Butler, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to approve <br />the minutes of the regular Orono Council meeting held on November <br />12, 1991 Ayes 4,'nays 0. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Norm Paurus asked the Council to share the latest news of the <br />DNR's consideration of buying property on Maxwell Bay. <br />Moorse noted they have not received information from the DNR to <br />date. There .was a meeting with them several weeks ago at which <br />the DNR indicated a plan or specific proposal would not be <br />available until mid — December. He noted that staff and the City <br />Attorney are looking at what controls the City ordinances have <br />over the DNR in their proposal, and will be putting together a <br />letter to the DNR addressing concerns of the City. <br />Paurus suggested that the Council look at the overall picture of <br />property in that area, and urge the DNR to do something jointly <br />to improve the situation in that area. <br />1 <br />
