ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD JULY 22, 1991 <br />ZONING ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />(#5)ZONING FILE #1604 -CLAIR ROOD <br />2215 KENWOOD WAY <br />VARIANCE /CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT- RESOLUTION #2989 <br />Clair Rood was present. <br />Bernhardson provided a brief statement explaining the basis <br />for Mr. Rood's application, noting that the Planning Commission <br />had recommended approval. He informed Council that Planning <br />Commission also recommended that Mr. Rood reduce the height of <br />the existing pillars on his property to 3h feet, or that he apply <br />for a separate height Variance. Bernhardson added that another <br />issue for Council's consideration involves the legal combination <br />of the parcels owned by Mr. Rood. <br />Gaffron explained that the pillars, retaining walls and <br />constitute an accessory use and are located on lots that have no <br />principal structure. <br />Goetten indicated that, in her opinion, the Ordinance <br />requiring a principal structure with an accessory structure. <br />pertains more to structures such as docks, barns, garages, etc. <br />She did not see the need to require a lot combination in mr. <br />Rood's case. <br />Jabbour agreed with Goetten that a lot combination is not <br />necessary. <br />. Mr. Rood stated that at some point in the future, he would <br />like to build a house on lots 54 and 55, but that he is not yet <br />prepared to submit.a subdivision application. <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to <br />adopt Resolution #2989, approving a Variance and Conditional Use <br />Permit for excavation within a wetland area, as amended to omit <br />Condition #11 pertaining to legal combination of the four parcels. <br />owned by the applicant. All voted aye =. Motion passed. <br />( #6)ZONING FILE #1646 - TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH <br />2060 SIXTH AVENUE NORTH <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT- RESOLUTION #2990 <br />Jerry Jones, an authorized representative for Trinity <br />Lutheran Church was present. <br />Bernhardson advised that the applicant is seeking a <br />Conditional Use Permit for a church use in conjunction with the <br />construction of a detached garage. He informed Council that the <br />Planning Commission had recommended approval. <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Jabbour, to adopt <br />Resolution #2990, granting a Conditional Use Permit for the <br />9W <br />:� <br />
