IE <br />.4 ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD APRIL 22, 1991 <br />(#34)DOG REGULATION AND LICENSING <br />ORDINANCE AMENDMENT #93 SECOND SERIES <br />Councilmember Goetten had requested that th__s item be <br />removed from the Consent Agenda for discussion. S:ie asked whose <br />responsibility it is i;o pay far rabies shots administered by <br />Reo -Raj Kennels to stray dogs that al-e picked up and brought in <br />to the facility. <br />Bernhardson replied, "Thy owner of the dog mist pay the <br />rabies fee before their dog will be released. If the owner does <br />not pick up their dog, the City must bear that cost. <br />Mayor Petersen asked what the City is doing L-o' advise <br />residents of'the hours during which they may pick up dogs from <br />the Reo -Ra ;i Kennels. <br />Bernhardson believed that information had been provided when <br />license applications were mailed out the first of the year, but <br />stated that he would confirm that. <br />Jabbour noted that there may be a discrepancy on the license <br />application relative to the time limit for which Orono requires <br />that a dog be licensed, and the age at which-a dog may receive a <br />rabies shot, which is required in order to license the dog. <br />Bernha -rdson and Mabus t h indicated they wou- look into <br />Councilmember Jabbour'st:,concern further. <br />It was moved by Butler, seconded by Mayo:,,* Peterson, to adopt <br />Ordinance #93, Second Series, ar -ilending Ordinance #50, Second <br />Series and direct Staff to revise the license application. All <br />voted aye. Motion passed. <br />( #35 *) ADMINISTRATOR' S INFORMATION <br />It was moved by Butler, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to <br />accept the City Administrator': Information regarding: Planning <br />Commission Ordinance Reviews, Spring Hill R duction, Regulations <br />of Clubs, Development /Medina, Dunwoody /Shoreline: - Drive, DARE <br />Program Letter, Administrator's Goal Setting Status, February <br />Receipts and Disbursements and Wire Transfers, All voted aye. <br />;lotion passed. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: None. <br />( #36 *)LICENSES <br />It was moved by Butler, seconded by M,iyor Peterson, to <br />approve the following license(s): <br />Solicitor's: Christine M.
