With regard to the Highway 12 issue, I. would <br />like to think that I had something to offer. even though I have <br />my own viewpoints based on my personal experiences. I believe <br />that you cannot fight the Highway Department, and the job of the <br />Planning Commission and Council, as I see it, is to get the <br />- esidents to recognize that something is going to happen. We <br />also need to be su e that we do the best we can to protect <br />Orono Is interests. The Long Lake issue is political, and one <br />which the Council will have to address." <br />Jabbour stated that he appreciates the straight forward way <br />that Cohen brings matters to the table. <br />Goetten stated that she has appreciated Cohen's efforts to <br />uphold the City's Zoning Ordinances. <br />Butler observed that there is not currently a member on the <br />Planning Commission designated as a representative for urban <br />lakeshore. <br />Mabusth stated that Candace Rowlette could be classified as <br />urban lakeshore even though she does not have municipal sewer. <br />Goetten stated that is correct, but that Candace is the <br />first Planning Commission member in four yea'---s that could have <br />that designation. <br />Butler asked if Ms. Berg is still interested. <br />Mabusth stated that the applicants were informed that they <br />should notify the City if they were no longer interested and <br />wish- =_d to have their names withdrawn. She reiterated that she <br />had not heard anything from Ms. Berg, but that Ms. Berg was <br />notified of the meetings where interviewing would occur.
