ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 11, 1991 <br />(#8)JOINT USE DOCK LICENSES CONTINUED <br />March 25, 1991. Jabbour asked whether the owner of Sandy Beach <br />has been notified of the City's intentions. Bernhardson stated <br />that notification had not yet been given, but would occur <br />shortly. Motion, Ayes -5; Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />ENGINEER'S REPORT: <br />( #9 *)CHANGE ORDER #2- PUMPHOUSE #3 <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Butler, to approve a <br />time extension of the completion date for the Pumphouse #3 <br />Project from December 15, 1990 to May 15, 1991, for substantial <br />completion and site grading and landscaping to be extend-ad to <br />June 15, 1991. Motion, Ayes -5, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />( #10 *)PAY REQUEST #5- PUMPHOUSE #3) <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Butler, to approve Pay <br />Request #5 for Pumphouse #3, in the amount of $5,225.00, payable <br />to Richmar Construction. Motion, Ayes -5, Nays -0. Motion passed. <br />MAYOR /COUNCIL REPORT: <br />OTHER <br />Mayor Peterson stated that she, and hopefully the Council <br />agreed, to reinstate the article in the newspaper with a revised <br />title. <br />Council agreed that printing of articles, entitled "Coming <br />from the Orono Council Chambers ", rather than "Mayor's Article ", <br />should resume. <br />Rosemary Schauer stated that submission of the articles to <br />the "Laker" should be handled in the same method follow-ad for <br />press releases. <br />With regard to the publishing of a City Newsletter, Mayor <br />Peterson referred Council to a sample prepared by Sherokee Ilse. <br />She asked if Council would give this idea some consideration over <br />the next two weeks azd be prepared to offer comments and <br />suggestions at the March 25th Council meeting. <br />Goetten asked whether consideration is still being given to <br />publishing and distributing a newsletter prior to the upcoming <br />Town Meeting. <br />Jabbour said, "It was my understanding that we were first <br />going to find a person interested in doing a newsletter, and <br />then determine how much it will cost the City to do this. I <br />would like to know how Sherokee's involvement came to be." <br />Mayor Peterson replied, " Sherokee's involvement is not <br />official. She volunteered to provide us with a format to get an <br />- 13 - <br />
