ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 28, 1991 <br />ADMINISTRATOR'S INFORMATION <br />Mayor Paterson requested the removal of this item from the <br />Consent Agenda. She stated that the "Laker" newspaper does not <br />include information pertaining to Orono. Size said, "Not everyone <br />residing in Orono receives the Pioneer." <br />Bernhardson stated that the City Clerk will be receiving a <br />map showing the circulation areas for the Pioneer. <br />Callahan referred to the November receipts and disbursements <br />information and asked Council if they had reviewed it. He stated <br />that revenues are becoming a concern and we should continue to <br />monitor them closely. <br />Bernhardson stated that Orono was more fortunate than other <br />communities that have still been receiving State and Federal aid. <br />He said, "The City of Orono will not lose more than $2,000 or <br />$3,000 this year as a result of diminishing State and Federal <br />funds." <br />It was moved by Mayor Peterson, seconded by Callahan, to <br />accept the City Administrator's Information regarding: 1991 DARE <br />Program, Newspaper Area Coverage, November Receipts and <br />Disbursements, and Wire Transfers. Motion, Ayes -4, Nays--O. <br />,Motion passed. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: None. <br />LICENSES <br />Goetten expressed concern regarding the number of businesses <br />that are selling cigarettes over the counter. <br />Bernhardson stated that he would look into the issue <br />further. <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Callahan, to approve <br />the following license(s): <br />Over the Counter Cigarette: <br />Wayzata Country Club <br />Keaveny's Navarre Drug <br />Jimmie's Lounge <br />Rick's Super Valu <br />O'Sullivans <br />Orono Self Service <br />Navarre Liquors <br />Navarre Bowling Lanes <br />Navarre Amoco <br />Motion, Ayes -4; Nays -0.
