A <br />ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 14, 1991 <br />1991 APPOINTMENTS CONTINUED <br />Councilmember Goetten asked for clarification regarding the <br />function of the Development Committee. <br />Bernhardson replied, <br />established under our Plann <br />The Development Committee <br />submitted to the City. I <br />section of the Ordinance <br />Committee." <br />"The Development Committee was <br />ad Unit Development Ordinance process. <br />reviews all PUD proposals that are <br />will provide you with a copy of the <br />pertaining to the deities of the <br />Mayor Peterson stated that the City must provide two primary <br />Cable Commission members, as well as an alternate. She said, "It <br />is preferred that the primary members be elected officials." <br />Councilmember Jabbour suggested tabling the appointments to <br />Lake Minnetonka Cable Communications Commission until a Council <br />appointment has been made. <br />Councilmember Callahan asked what the members of the LMCCC <br />C� <br />Mayor Peterson replied, "They primarily listen to reports, <br />and monitor customer satisfaction." <br />It was the consensus of Council that this appointment be <br />delayed until such time as the Council appointment has been made. <br />Councilmember Callahan asked the City Attorney to provide <br />information regarding the term of the LMCD representative and <br />whether the individual cities have the power of recall. He said, <br />"I am not suggesting this to interfere with the appointment of <br />JoEllen Hurr. I am merely asking because these questions seem to <br />arise frequently. <br />Councilmember Jabbour stated that he understood the <br />Metropolitan Council's position to be that the individual cities <br />do not have the power to recall their representatives. <br />Mayor Peterson stated that it would be necessary for Council <br />to appoint an alternate representative to West Hennepin Haman <br />Services Board. <br />Ms. Ilse stated that the Chair of that Board is an Orono <br />representative in addition to David Ilse and LaDean McWilliams. <br />Councilmember Callahan confirmed Ms. Ilse's comments and <br />added that the City had not appointed the person currently <br />serving as Chair. <br />Bernhardson stated that he would look into the matter. <br />M= <br />
