MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD MARCH 23, 1992 <br />CONSENT AGENDA - CONT. <br />I <br />Motions for all items adopted by consent agenda will be included in <br />the minutes in their respective numerical order. <br />( #3) APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Goetten objected to the reference of, "Town Hall Road ".on page 7. <br />Moorse suggested that it be referred to as "the - frontage road." <br />It was moved by Goetten, seconded by Jabbour, to approve the minutes <br />of the regular meeting of the Orono Council held on March 9, 1992, as <br />amended. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />( #4) INTRODUCTION — AMELIA KROEGER <br />Gerhardson stated that the West Hennepin Recycling Commission <br />appointed Amelia Kroeger to the position of Coordinator to replace the <br />previous Coordinator who took a job with the City of Plymouth. <br />Kroeger was welcomed by all and spoke about her new position. <br />Mayor Peterson asked Kroeger if she has received calls regarding <br />disposal of household hazardous waste. <br />Kroeger answered that there are many calls regarding hazardous waste <br />and selling aluminum cans. The closest locations for selling cans are <br />Buffalo and Brooklyn Park. A schedule was handed out and she noted <br />the Goodwill Recycling Day on the calendar. <br />Jabbour asked about motor oil. <br />Kroeger stated that certain stations will collect oil if you change it <br />yourself but that it should not be brought to drop sites. It can be <br />taken to the Recycling Transfer Center in Brooklyn Park. <br />Goetten asked if Kroeger lived in Orono or Maple Plain? <br />Kroeger responded that she lives in Orono with a Maple Plain address. <br />PARK COMMISSION COMMENTS <br />Robert Howells, one of the new members of the Park Commission, was <br />present but had no comments to make at this time. <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br />Mayor Peterson asked if anyone was present who would like to address <br />the Council. No public comments were made. <br />3 <br />
