MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON DECEMBER 12, 1994 <br />( #18) TEMPORARY STAFFING FOR MICROFICHE PROJECT - POLICE • <br />DEPARTMENT <br />Moorse reported that the police department, after keeping a hard copy of each file for <br />three years, microfiche's each file. Due to a busy work load, the departrment is unable to <br />keep up with this procedure and requests hiring their present high school intern to assist <br />in this project. Since the intern is familiar with the workings of the department, this <br />would aid in the efficiency of the procedure. <br />It was noted that other police departments have begun using imaging technology. The <br />City will be examining the results of Minnetonka Police Department's use of this <br />relatively new technology. <br />Hurr moved, Callahan seconded, to authorize the hiring of Jeremiah Callaghan as a part- <br />time temporary employee at $6.259ft not to exceed a total of $312.95. <br />( * #19) WINTER ACTIVITIES ORONO GOLF COURSE <br />Callahan moved, 3abbour seconded to approve the use of the Orono Golf Course by Gear <br />West of Long Lake and the public for cross- country skiing and sledding for one evening <br />per week and Saturday and Sunday afternoons during January and February, weather <br />permitting. Concession stand will be open which will offset the cost of personnel to staff • <br />the club house. Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />Hurr voiced her opinion that Gear West should share in the expense of maintaining <br />personnel for the club house. It was noted that Gear West does maintain the ski trails. <br />( * #20) CITY RECORDER FEE ADJUSTMENT <br />Callahan moved, Jabbour seconded, to increase the City Recorder pay schedule as <br />follows: Ayes 3, Nays 0. <br />2 hour meeting $ 80.00 <br />3 -hour meeting 100.00 <br />4-hour meeting 120.00 <br />5 -hour meeting 140.00 <br />10 <br />n <br />LJ <br />
