-4► - - MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD JANUARY 10, 1994 • MAYOR /COUNCIL REPORT CONTINUED Kelley noted that there was a movement afoot to have the ice facilities moved onto the school property to facilitate the girls hockey program. Nothing formal had been done yet, but he felt the Council should be aware of this movement. ENGINEER REPORT There was no Engineer's report. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT ( #7) LONG LAKE WATER QUALITY PUBLIC INFORMATION COMMITTEE Moorse reviewed the project and asked for Council input regarding appointing someone to serve on the Water Quality Public Information Committee for Long Lake. Mayor Callahan commented he felt they should give this matter some thought before deciding who would serve on the committee. He also felt it should be determined what the body was going to do before appointing someone. Discussion ensued regarding the various agencies involved. Councilmember Hurr arrived at the meeting at 7:50 p.m. ( * #8) PARK COMMISSION REAPPOINTMENTS Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to reappoint Richard Flint, Susan Wilson and Sherokee Ilse to the Park Commission. Ayes 5, nays 0. ( #9) 1994 APPOINTMENTS - RESOLUTION NO. 3378 Mayor Callahan requested that the Acting Mayor be changed from Diann Goetten to Gabriel Jabbour. Hurr stated she did not want to serve on the Cable Commission as she did not have cable television and she asked Jabbour to replace her on that body. Jabbour agreed. Hurr moved, Goetten seconded, to adopt Resolution No. 3378 as amended, designating selected appointments for the Year 1994. Ayes 5, nays 0. ( * #10) ANNUAL PURCHASE OF NEW SQUAD CARS Jabbour moved, Goetten seconded, to approve the purchase of two police squad cars under the State of Minnesota contract from Superior Ford at a price of • $13,951 each.
