MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON OCTOBER 9, 1995 <br />( #19 - Ice Rink at Antoine Playground - Continued) <br />Moorse questioned whether there was a need to send another letter to the neighborhood <br />• <br />regarding the recommendation. Goetten asked what the initial letter said. Gerhardson <br />said the original letter informed the residents that the rink had been monitored and <br />appeared to be used infrequently. They were informed that the City was considering not <br />maintaining the rink. Gerhardson added that the City does not wish to see rinks on the <br />lake and is concerned with safety with lake rinks. Hurr said she was in attendance at the <br />Park Commission meeting and saw no reason to send another letter. Jabbour said he <br />knew a couple of the neighbors would be disappointed but noted the difficulty in <br />maintaining rinks. <br />Gerhardson said the quality of ice at the City rinks were concentrated on last year and <br />produced quality ice.
