MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO CITY COUNCIL <br />MEETING HELD ON FEBRUARY 27, 1995 <br />POLICE CHIEF REPORT <br />• Chief Sullivan reported that both new part -time officers, Persell and Melton, have <br />completed the FTO program and are doing well as productive members of the police <br />department. <br />Sullivan also reported on the recent counterfeiting case. The Orono Police Department, <br />being the predominant police agency in the investigation, will receive from the federal <br />government 90% of any forfeited assets recovered. $10,000 in real money was <br />recovered, and Sullivan expects the City to realize about $9,000. <br />Jabbour commented that the City and Mayor received letters from the U. S. Treasury <br />Department and the Secret Service complimenting the police unit on their work in this <br />investigation.
