MINUTES OF THE <br />ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />Monday, November 24, 2014 <br />7:00 o’clock p.m. <br />_____________________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br /> Page 1 of 21 <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> <br />The Orono City Council met on the above-mentioned date with the following members present: Mayor <br />Lili Tod McMillan, Council Members Cynthia Bremer, Lizz Levang, and Aaron Printup. Representing <br />Staff were City Administrator Jessica Loftus, Finance Director Ron Olson, Community Development <br />Director Andrew Mack, Senior Planner Michael Gaffron, City Engineer/Public Works Director Adam <br />Edwards, City Attorney Soren Mattick, and Recorder Jackie Young. <br /> <br />Mayor McMillan called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Item Nos. 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 were added to the Consent Agenda. Item No. 14 was removed from the <br />Consent Agenda. <br /> <br />Levang moved, Bremer seconded, to approve the Consent Agenda as amended. VOTE: Ayes 4, <br />Nays 0. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />*2. JOINT PLANNING AND CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION OF NOVEMBER 5, 2014 <br /> <br />Levang moved, Bremer seconded, to approve the minutes of the Joint Planning and City Council <br />Work Session of November 5, 2014, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*3. CANVASSING BOARD MEETING OF NOVEMBER 10, 2014 <br /> <br />Levang moved, Bremer seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono Canvassing Board Meeting <br />of November 10, 2014, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />*4. REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF NOVEMBER 10, 2014 <br /> <br />Levang moved, Bremer seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono City Council meeting of <br />November 14, 2014, as submitted. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING – 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br />5. 2015 FEE SCHEDULE – ORDINANCE NOS. 128 AND 129 (Summary Publication) <br /> <br />Finance Director Olson stated before the City Council tonight is the 2015 fee schedule. Olson stated the <br />water rates are proposed to increase by 11 percent, sewer by 4 percent, and stormwater and recycling both <br />by 10 percent. He noted the Council also discussed these increases in October at a work session. The <br />City Council had requested a public hearing be held in connection with the fee schedule. In addition, the <br />Council should discuss whether or not the PEG fee should be eliminated on cable subscribers’ monthly <br />bills.
