-P TESTING, INC. Steven B. Schirmers • MPCA Cert.No. 627
951 Katydid Lane NE • St. Michael, MN 55376 • (612) 497-3566
FAX (612)-497-5011
State License#394
May 16, 1997
Spring Hill Golf Club
Maintenance Building & Rest Area
Orono, Henn. Co., MN
These on-site sewage treatment systems are designed for a Golf Club maintenance
building with 20 employees at 15 gal/each day and a rest area with 150 golfers at 2
gal/each/day , totaling 300 gal/day each system, in accordance with the Minnesota
Pollution Control Agency Chapter 7080 and local ordinances.
The seasonally saturated soils were located at 18" to 40" (mottled soil). Due to the
seasonally saturated soils, a Pressurized Mound System will need to be installed to treat
septic effluent. The bottom of the treatment area must be located at least 3' above the
saturated soils.
The soils at a depth of 12" have a percolation rate averaging 3.4 mpi in TH'S#1,2 & 3
(maintenance building) & 10.2 in TH's#7,8 & 9 (rest area).
A pumping chamber will need to be installed to lift the effluent to the treatment area.
The power supply and switches must be located outside the manhole and pumping
chamber in a weather proof enclosure. An audio alarm & light must be installed with an
exterior light at the controls in case of a pump failure. There are 2 options for the
pumping chamber. The first is to use dual pumps with an alternating relay and the
second is to install a larger tank with a minimum of 3 days reserve storage.
An event counter& water meter must be installed at both sites.
The manifold and supply line pipe must have back drainage to the pumping chamber.
The distribution pipes shall have their ends capped. Be sure the rock and sand fill
material are clean. The sod layer below the entire mounded area must be turned over,
just break up the sod, be sure not to over work.
1
