Vegetation Management Plan
Spring Hill Golf Club
Revised December 5, 2012
Wetland Buffer Maintenance Plan
I. Maintenance
' A. The adjacent natural wetland is dominated by reed canary grass
and narrow-leaf cattail. The maintenance practices below will give
the native species a good chance to become established but it
cannot prevent invasion by the adjacent non-native species.
B. Year One (first full growing season after construction/planting):
Mow, using a flail type mower, to a height of 5 to 8 inches, just over
' the height of the emerging native plants before weeds go to seed.
Assume three mowings in the first season during the period of June
- September. Any areas within the wetland or upland buffer that
' have bare soils may be overseeded with appropriate seed if
deemed appropriate to promote native vegetation establishment.
C. Year Two: Spot mow and spray invasive weed species as
necessary. Any areas within the wetland or upland buffer that have
bare soils may be overseeded with appropriate seed if deemed
appropriate to promote native vegetation establishment.
D. Year Three: Spot mow and spray invasive weed species as
necessary.
E. Year Four: Spot mow and spray invasive weed species as
necessary or conduct prescribed burn if conditions dictate.
F. Year Five: Spot mow and spray invasive weed species as
necessary.
Wetland Buffer Monitoring Plan
' I. Monitoring and Reporting
A. Annual monitoring will be conducted in accordance with MCWD
rules. Results of monitoring will dictate maintenance activities
which could differ from those specified below depending on
performance of the wetland and upland buffer. Bare soils devoid of
vegetation will be noted during monitoring activities so that
overseeding after the initial seeding can be considered if deemed
appropriate.
B. The applicant will submit an annual Wetland Buffer Inspection
Report by January 1 of each year for five years. The applicant may
submit a written request to cease annual monitoring by year three if
the wetland buffer is well established and approved by MCWD.
C. The annual Wetland Buffer Inspection Report shall include:
L Site Plan showing: location of permitted buffer area,
' areas of bare soil or erosion, areas of invasive
vegetation, and location and type of any encroachment
on the buffer.
