b. Invasive Species Removal and Management Plan <br /> i. Common Buckthorn—Rhamnus cathartica removal from Area B—See <br /> Appendix B. <br /> ii. Reed Canarygrass—Phalaris arundinacea allowed to remain in areas because <br /> they are a minor part of the areas outside of the protected wetlands. <br /> c. Tree mitigation and diseased tree plan—diseased or damaged trees will be cut down <br /> and removed from the site, trees native to the big woods area will be replanted as <br /> replacements such as: <br /> Basswood—Tilia americana <br /> Red Maple—Acer rubrum <br /> Hackberry—Celtis occidentalis <br /> Black Cherry--Prunus serotina <br /> d. Tree protection plan—The Area A and Area B trees will be protected on the site. If trees <br /> are lost from these areas, trees from item c above will be planted as replacements. <br /> e. Woodland protection and mitigation plan—The Common Buckthorn will be removed <br /> and maintained per Appendix B methods. <br /> f. Negative Impacts to ecological communities—no negative impacts are planned. <br /> g. Maintenance of Ecological Connections—Ecological connections would be present along <br /> the west, south, and southeast areas of the site through Areas A, B, and C and wetlands. <br /> h. Views—Positive views will be maintained by future development by Orono conservation <br /> design principles. <br /> i. Landmarks—no landmarks exist on the current property. <br /> 5. N/A <br /> 6.
