MINUTES OF THE <br /> ORONO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> Tuesday,March 19,2019 <br /> 7:00 o'clock p.m. <br /> Staff is recommending that both Parts A and B be awarded to GMH Construction in the amount of <br /> $1,201,238.25. <br /> Funding for the project will come from a combination of the Pavement Management Fund,the <br /> Stormwater Fund, and Sewer Fund. Currently the Pavement Management Fund has$1,081,095.92 based <br /> on current estimates,which results in approximately a$100,000 shortfall. That shortfall is anticipated to <br /> be made up either through the General Fund or a short-term interfund loan. <br /> Walsh stated the good news is the City is projecting a significant amount of project revenue in 2019 as <br /> well as $534,000 for 2020 in the Pavement Management Fund. <br /> Crosby moved,Johnson seconded,to award the 2019 Road Improvement Projects to GMH <br /> Construction in the amount of$1,201,238.67,and to approve Bolton & Menk's not-to-exceed fee in <br /> the amount of$185,000 for construction oversight. VOTE: Ayes 4,Nays 0. <br /> MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br /> Seals noted next week is spring break for Orono, which is why the Council meeting is being held this <br /> evening. <br /> Walsh reported last week he attended the luncheon with the Long Lake Chamber of Commerce where he <br /> was the keynote speaker. Updates were provided to the attendees concerning Orono and all the <br /> improvements and upgrades that are being undertaken within the City. <br /> Walsh stated that evening he also attended the First Community Night-Meet the Mayor in Mound,which <br /> was held at the Performing Arts Center. The event was taped and the link has been provided through the <br /> City's listserv. <br /> CITY ADMINISTRATOR REPORT <br /> Rief stated he would like to send out his thoughts and prayers to the people impacted by flooding in <br /> Nebraska. Infrastructure damages are estimated at close to a$1 billion and over$400 million in livestock <br /> losses.
