The requirement for a building permit for this work <br /> was brought to the attention of the contractor that did the work, Robert Hegland. Mr. Hegland <br /> promised to provide a building permit application with the required submittals for City review. As <br /> of this date,the building permit has not been applied for. <br /> Mr.Hegland is an unlicensed contractor and performed the work in violation of State and local laws. <br /> A report will be forwarded to the Minnesota State Commerce Department regarding his activity for <br /> legal action. <br /> Unfortunately, you as the property owner are ultimately responsible for obtaining the permit and <br /> complying with building and zoning codes. The City has established a deadline of May 12, 1997 <br /> for submittal of a building permit application along with two sets of building plans and a current <br /> survey showing all improvements and the new porch (see survey requirement sheet in enclosed <br /> building pernut application packet).
